For this project we were required to carve an abstract organic sculpture into a 3x3x12 piece of balsa wood. I carved multiple holes into the wood to break the axis. Since this was not suppose resemble a geometric form, I chose to round the edges and create a wave like movement across. What inspired my sculpture was the form of DNA; mainly the different strings crossing and bending. I used a variety of different woodcarving tools to create this shape.
